Tango Artı Orchestra

Founded in Ankara in 2004, Tango Artı Orchestra is an ensemble that brings unique interpretations to Argentine tango music. The orchestra performs in various concert formats featuring bandoneon, 2 violins, piano and double bass, alongside vocal performances. Producing most of its own arrangements, the ensemble has a wide repertoire spanning classical Argentine tangos to contemporary interpretations, including works by classical composers such as Aníbal Troilo, Osvaldo Pugliese and Juan D'Arienzo, as well as modern composers like Astor Piazzolla. Since its founding, Tango Artı Orchestra has performed at numerous concerts and music events, bringing tango music to audiences.

Meltem Anafarta Şendağ
Vocalista
Meltem Anafarta-Şendağ began her musical journey with jazz lessons from Yıldız İbrahimova during her METU years. In 2002, she co-founded what would later become Tango Artı Orchestra with Burak Şendağ, and has been performing as the ensemble's lead vocalist ever since. A professor of clinical psychology and psychotherapist, she combines her academic and artistic background in her konseminer-format presentations to bring tango culture to audiences.
Burak Şendağ
Bandoneón
Burak Şendağ has been performing bandoneon since 2004 and is among the founding members of Tango Artı Orchestra. He works on tango composition and orchestral arrangements, and teaches tango musicality courses at METU's Faculty of Music and Fine Arts. A Physics graduate of METU, Şendağ pursues his professional career in software, mobile app and game development.
Kaan Yüksel
Piano
Kaan Yüksel trained in piano, harmony and counterpoint, completed his master's degree in orchestral conducting at Ankara State Conservatory and earned a doctorate in music education. He has been the pianist of Tango Artı Orchestra since 2007, and continues his work as a faculty member at Başkent University State Conservatory.
Altuğ Bayrak

Altuğ Bayrak was born in Ankara in 1972. He has been active in music since the 1990s, focusing on Argentine tango since 2000. A founding member of Tango Artı, Bayrak has given concerts both in Turkey and abroad, and continues to perform as the ensemble's double bassist.
Çise Korkmaz
Violín
Çise Korkmaz began her violin training at Trakya University State Conservatory and completed her education with first-class honours at Istanbul University State Conservatory. She has performed with Youth Symphony Orchestra and international ensembles, giving concerts in Turkey and Europe. Since 2008, she has been working as a violinist at the State Opera and Ballet. She has been performing with Tango Artı Orchestra since 2025.
Buse Korkmaz
Violín
Starting violin at age 6, she completed her undergraduate studies at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory and earned her master's degree with high honours from the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. She performed with the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra and won prizes in national and international competitions. Having given concerts with various youth orchestras and international ensembles, she continues her career as a violinist. She has been performing with Tango Artı Orchestra since 2025.
