Burak Şendağ entered the world of tango as a pianist in the Agnolim Tango Orchestra he founded in 2001. In 2004, he incorporated the bandoneon — the characteristic instrument of tango — into his music. Having founded the Tango Artı Orchestra in 2005, he has been performing tango music as a bandoneon player, composer, and arranger for over 20 years.
In addition to his performing career, he works in tango composition and orchestral arrangements. Since 2007, he has been organizing Tango Musicality workshops and seminars to help dancers better understand and incorporate tango music into their performances.
He currently teaches Tango Musicality and Tango Composition at Middle East Technical University (METU), and gives illustrated concerts and musicality presentations for dancers and musicians.
A graduate of the METU Physics Department in 1995, Şendağ continues his professional career in software development, working on mobile applications and game development projects.
